ASCEND UpWard - women helping girls!

A Texas-based Non-Profit Foundation
ASCEND UpWard is the non-profit arm of ASCEND Services.

The specific purpose for which this entity is organized is to develop
and promote the academic success, economic empowerment, social activism, technical proficiency and/or community volunteerism
of young women with a specific emphasis on underrepresented
minorities.

ASCEND UpWard seeks to facilitate the growth of strong female leaders
by teaching life skills that include discipline, respect, teamwork, a good work
ethic and moral character through training, coaching, mentoring, group activities,
and community outreach projects.

A Collaborative partnership with channel Austin* for the purpose of increasing the media competency of young girls through training and TV show production. 


  • 10-12 greater Austin girls
  • Ages 10-19
  • 6-9 month commitment


*Activities pending Grant Approval; show to be produced in 1Q2010.

In an effort to expand ASCEND's reach
in mentoring and supporting
as many young women as possible, contributions from individuals, organizations, small enterprises and large corporations are needed.
